San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gave a teenager the surprise of his life last weekend when the NFL star wore a vest that the young man designed for him.
13-year-old Jeremiah Jones owns the clothing company JYoungin and was shocked when he looked at his television and saw his favorite quarterback sporting his JY Collection Vest in a postgame press conference. after the 49ers beat the Carolina Panthers 23-10 last week. “I was blown away. It was a miracle” said Jones when asked about Kaepernick’s wardrobe choice.
It was actually Jeremiah’s sister who spotted the vest first. Thanks to their handy dandy DVR they were able to do an instant replay of sorts and see if what they were seeing was real. After careful review, it turned out that Kaepernick was indeed wearing the vest that Jones sent him last November as a part of a birthday package which also included a Positive Achiever award.
Once he was sure that his vest was the one on the screen, Jeremiah called his father and business partner to tell him the good news. When asked about his father’s reaction Jeremiah said “He just started screaming”.
The Jyoungin clothing line was started five years ago by Jeremiah and his dad. The two have managed to produce the JYoungin.com website, and a store in Long Beach, California. The young man also has over 27,000 followers on his Twitter page and an animated cartoon to compliment his clothing line.
