I have been a fan of the Single Fathers Blog since its beginning, and knowing Showtime for a good time now and remembering that I was asked to share my knowledge on his internet radio show I said that I would love to contribute some copy to the site. If you know me, you know that I don’t do anything the normal way so it’s Sports News and Notes the way everyone can enjoy.
At this time of the year I feel as if it is my duty as a Sports Commentator to help educate those in only the way that I can about some of the important Sunday NFL Football Games. Let’s begin.
5. Eagles 2-0 @ Cardinals 2-0.
Pick- Eagles 32-14
It’s not because I think that Eagles are that great, I am just convinced that the Cardinals are that bad. It took the Patriots finding new ways to pull defeat from the jaws of victory and a horrible call from the replacement refs on a touchdown run that would have given New England the win to get the victory. I know what you are thinking, the Eagles have nine turnovers in the first two games but they won them with the offense making plays in crunch time. The Eagles will move to 3-0 and Kevin Kolb will show you why Philadelphia let him go.
4. Bengals 1-1 @ Redskins 1-1.
Pick- Redskins I think 30-20
The reason why this is a big game is because it’s RGIII in his first home game after really showing that he was worth the jump up to number 2 in the draft. In his first two games he has completed 70% of his passes and has 5 total touchdowns. This game will showcase a lot of young talent with A.J. Green and Andy Dalton on the Bengals sideline and Griffin and company for the Skins. Even with the starting outside linebackers out for the year for the home team the Skins win by 10 simply because somebody has to. But don’t hold me to it.
3. Buccaneers 1-1 @ Cowboys 1-1.
Pick- Dallas 20-14
I reserve the right to change this pick to the Bucs if the Cowboys come out and they forget what time the game starts much like they did in Seattle last week. The Cowboys were stuck squarely on point shave mode after fumbling the first kick off and then getting a punt blocked for a touchdown. Again one of the most talented teams in the league on offense to only score seven points in a game is disappointing for all of Cowboy Nation, especially after all of you had them winning the Super Bowl after beating the Giants. Tampa couldn’t beat the Giants and by the simple fact that Dallas did I give them the edge. It will be close though because the Bucs are a much improved team and very tough on defense if you exclude the last quarter of football they played. Somebody clean my glasses I have two more games. 2. 49ers 2-0 @ Vikings 1-1.
Pick- 49ers 34-7
I am giving the Vikings 7 points because the Niners will put in their subs at the end. Oh yeah, Candy Randy comes back to the place where he got his “Roll On” plenty of times and gave us the best quote of all time. How you gone pay that fine Randy? “Straight Cash Homie!” The reason why this game is even on here is because in my opinion San Francisco is the best team in the NFL.
1. Patriots 1-1 @ Ravens 1-1.
Pick Ravens 24-23
The Ravens are simply the better team right now. Last week Baltimore let the Eagles walk out with a one point win, that if you are a real fan of football, you know that there was no way that it should have happened. I have watched Ray Lewis’ show with him wearing a microphone and I just feel like after his speeches to his teammates that two things will and should happen.
- You will immediately give your life back to Christ, or ask to get baptized.
- And you will go out and play as if they are going to get your check docked and made to stand and tell the team you are sorry for everything you have ever done wrong in life.
Tom Brady and Wes Welker aren’t speaking right now and without Hernandez to compliment Gronk, this offense isn’t clicking on all levels yet. The defense also allowed Kevin Kolb to have a good game. NO one does that, really it is documented on film. The Ravens win but you will see these two teams battle in the playoffs.
