Teenage Girl Killed For Accusing Man of Rape
16-year-old Shania Gray was the victim of an unthinkable crime. Police say that after she accused Franklin B. Davis of sexual assault the teenage girl was killed in order to prevent her from testifying against him next month.Davis, 30, has been charged with capital murder and is being held on $2 million bail.
In April 2011 Gray’s mother Sherry James contacted the Mesquite, TX police department to report that Davis had sexually assaulted her daughter while she was babysitting his children. According to a police affidavit Gray accused the man of exposing himself and having sex with her on four separate occasions between January and March.
Gray began to make up stories about why she did not want to babysit for for Davis anymore, and remained silent about the attacks because Davis threatened her. Authorities arrested Davis in July 2011 and charged hm with four counts of sexual assault to a child. His trial was scheduled to begin next month and Gray was expected to testify.According to an affidavit that was released earlier this week, Davis pretended to be a teenage boy on a social network and bought a new cellphone in order to contact Gray via text message. He used the false identity to arrange a meeting with Gray last week.Several reports say that Davis showed up outside of Gray’s school on Thursday and convinced her to get into his car so they could discuss the case. He confessed to police that he took her to a secluded area, shot her twice, and then stepped on her neck until she stopped breathing.In a jailhouse interview Davis told a local television station that Gray had agreed to drop the sexual assault charges, but he attacked her anyway.“I was fighting with my demons for a little over a year, and it got too much,” he said. “I couldn’t … pretty much no one was safe around me. My mind was on a whole another level.”
Im not a death penalty supporter, but I think that it goes without saying that I want this animal to expeditiously sent to the depths of hell.
